Maintaining Your Underglow Lighting System
Proper maintenance is key to ensuring your Luminescence underglow kit stays bright, reliable, and long-lasting. Follow these simple steps to keep your lighting system in top condition. With these easy maintenance tips, your Luminescence underglow will keep your vehicle looking sharp and glowing bright for miles to come.
Clean Regularly
Keep your LED strips shining bright by cleaning them regularly with a soft, damp cloth. You can use plain water or a gentle all-purpose cleaner safe for the materials involved. Routine cleaning removes dirt, dust, and grime that can dull the glow and helps preserve the lifespan of your high-quality LEDs.
Check for Secure Installation
Periodically inspect your extensions and mounting hardware to make sure everything is secure and in its proper place:
Ensure extension cables are tucked safely away from the road, moving parts, or hot surfaces to prevent damage.
If your kit uses clip fittings, check that clips and screws remain firmly fastened and show no signs of wear or loosening.
These quick inspections can prevent unexpected issues and keep your underglow installation stable and functional.
Replace Adhesive Pads Annually
For kits installed using adhesive pad fittings, it’s important to replace these pads every year. Fresh adhesive ensures your LEDs remain firmly attached, helping maintain a secure fit and prolonging the overall effectiveness of your lighting setup.
Disconnect When Idle
If your vehicle will be parked for an extended period, take steps to prevent unnecessary battery drain. While our V2 kits feature a convenient master switch to easily turn off your underglow system, we still strongly recommend removing the fuse from the Power Wire of the Controller Unit during long-term inactivity. This extra precaution helps safeguard your vehicle’s battery and ensures your lighting system is fully protected while not in use.
