📦 UNDERGLOW Contents (Based on Selected Options)
4× Waterproof RGB/RGBW LED Light Strips
1× Underglow Controller (WLED-based Wi‑Fi Controller)
1× Prewired Power Cable with Inline Fuse and 12V Relay and Optional Mounting Tab (Attached to Controller)
1× Mounting Kit (choose one):
Option A: Clips & Screws
Option B: Adhesive Pads & Cable Ties
1× 2M Extension Cable
4× 3M Extension Cables
⚠️ Before You Start
Park the vehicle on a flat, dry surface.
Disconnect the battery to prevent electrical shorts.
Clean all mounting areas thoroughly with degreaser.
🧰 Required Tools
Long Cable Ties (for Cable Management)
Screwdriver or drill (for Clip & Screw kit)
Optional: Grab Adhesive — recommended to apply small blobs on the LED strips to prevent drooping over time
Optional: Bolt or screw (for mounting the relay tab)
🛠 Step-by-Step Installation
1. Bench Test the Kit
Before installation, connect the underglow kit directly to a 12V car battery (do not use power supply units as these may interfere with brightness or power output).
Verify all LED strips light up and the controller responds correctly — see App & Control Setup section to set up the application. This ensures the kit is fully functional before fitting.
Note: Don’t be alarmed if the LEDs blink when turning on the controller. This is the relay cutting power to the LEDs and turning them off as default. Check the application and turn the LEDs on.
2. Plan Mounting Points
Place the LED strips around the vehicle:
Front: Behind bumper or under radiator support — cable coming out to the passenger side
Sides: Along sills or chassis rails — cables coming towards the front of the vehicle
Rear: Beneath rear bumper or boot floor — cable coming out of the driver’s side rear
Ensure symmetry and clear spacing.
Note: Cable orientation corresponds to LED strip position but can be reversed or adjusted later in the WLED app settings.
LED Outputs:
Output 1: Front
Output 2: Driver’s Side
Output 3: Rear
Output 4: Passenger Side
3. Mounting the Strips
If using Clips & Screws:
Position the strip and screw one clip loosely in place
Hook the LED strip under the clip
Screw in the other side of the clip to hold the strip firmly
Tighten both screws to secure the clip fully
If using Adhesive Pads & Cable Ties:
Stick the adhesive pads onto clean surfaces
Use cable ties through the pad loops to fasten the LED strip securely
Apply firm pressure for 30 seconds

4. Route the Cables
Run the wires toward the battery or fuse box area
Avoid routing near moving parts such as suspension arms, driveshafts, brake lines, steering components, and hot areas such as turbos, exhaust manifolds, catalytic converters, or engine blocks
Use cable ties to secure wiring neatly along chassis lines or existing looms
5. Power Connection
Red Wire → Connect to +12V battery terminal (via inline fuse)
Black Wire → Connect to a clean, solid ground point (battery negative or vehicle chassis)
💡 The kit includes a relay with a metal mounting tab. You may mount the relay securely to the chassis using a bolt or screw, or tuck it away safely in a dry location.
6. Install the Controller
Mount the Underglow Controller inside the engine bay, cabin, or another weather-protected location
Connect the controller to the power supply and LED wiring harness
Note: The controller is waterproof, but avoid submerging it in water or placing it in areas where water can pool. Make sure the relay remains in a dry and secure location to ensure long-term reliability.
📲 App & Control Setup
Power on the controller
Connect your phone to the controller’s Wi‑Fi network (usually named LUMINESCENCE-XXXX or custom if selected on your order)
A browser UI popup may appear — ignore this, it’s often buggy
Download the WLED Native App on the App Store (iOS/Android)
In the WLED Native app (iOS/Android):
Tap the ‘+’ (Add Controller)
Choose Add Manually
Enter IP address as shown: 4.3.2.1
Name your controller (e.g., “My Car Underglow”)
Save it and connect
Use the app to adjust colours, brightness, and lighting effects.
Tip: If issues occur with the WLED Native app, try the WLED+ App - this is updated more often but isn't official and has a more complex UK style.
🔧 Troubleshooting Guide
🧼 Care & Maintenance
Avoid jet-washing directly on LED strips or exposed wiring
Recheck clips, pads, extension cables, and cable ties after heavy driving or extreme weather
Make sure the relay stays dry and securely mounted, whether fastened to the chassis or tucked safely away
Do not drive through flood water — this may cause permanent electrical damage
Replace adhesive pads and cable ties once per year for reliable mounting
